Karen Walker Resort 2013

(All photos credit to Style.com)

I'm really late in posting Resort wear because the showings were in June, but...oh well. Here are a few looks from Karen Walker's Resort 2013 line! I love the color palette of blues, whites and the hint of coral and pink. As you can see, florals and head-to-toe print matching/mixing is still a viable option...which means that if you haven't tried it enough already, there will be plenty of time to do so! I'm thinking that I should try matching prints this time. We'll see.

I've always loved Karen Walker and love seeing each season's offerings! Her sunglasses are quirky in all the right ways, yet I haven't been able to get my hands on a pair. They're a bit pricey for this college student at the moment :( She has a Made in Kind collaboration with Anthropologie at the moment, so go check it out!

p.s. Added the Bloglovin' widget! It should show up to your left...if you want to be notified of future posts by yours truly, you can sign up! Thank you for your interest <3

it's the getty style.

(Silk blouse - thrifted, shorts - MINK PINK, boots - BedStu, bag - Rebecca Minkoff, bracelets - Urban Outfitters)

If you couldn't tell, the title of this blog post is my, uh, twist on Gangnam Style. Remind me not to listen to it while I am trying to think of a name for a blog post, because inevitably what has occurred here will happen. Oops.

Went to the Getty museum with friends for the first time in 10 years (for me, at least!) and it was as beautiful as I remembered. Not only does it provide a very fun ~tram ride~ up to the museum itself, but it also has breathtaking views of Los Angeles and the surrounding area! The central garden is also a must visit, as it has beautiful arrangements of flowers and provides a nice place to snap pictures. Yay!

Fortunately, it was not as hot as I thought it would be and the blouse I wore served me well. Apparently I was dressed for a safari? I don't know how practical my shorts would be while adventuring, but I guess the combination evokes that.

We wrapped up the day staring at the beautiful view of LA lights at the Griffith Observatory...and I hope you enjoy the picture spam I am sharing with you :)

just too close.

(Sunglasses - Prada, bustier - Mink Pink, skirt - thrifted, wedges - Jeffrey Campbell, bag - vintage)

Something I learned after looking at the photos of me walking past the brick wall: I need to stop slouching. Yikes. Found this little gem of a skirt at a Goodwill for only $2.50. Needless to say, it was such a thrill finding it! What makes it even better is that it is exactly on trend with its jewel-motifs and rich color tones. One of my best finds yet, I think :)

a getaway; part two!

1. Flamingos and dinosaurs and more sunglasses oh my! :)
2. More flamingos. I think I took a ton of photos of them...
3. Starfish! Or rather, sea stars. They were really..callous.
4. Some semi-outfit photos. Dinosaur tank and high waist shorts and my leather bag that I take everywhere. Oh, and my Frye sandals that proceeded to bleed and break on me. My fault for getting it soaked...oops.

a getaway; part one

Day one of my SD getaway trip consisted of a myriad of different activities that may or may not have revolved around some appetizing food. ;)

Photos in descending order:
1. A house special at Hash House a Go Go, consisting of eggs and mashed potatoes and biscuit and just delicious food. Their portions are the biggest I've ever seen...the four of us got so full eating it.
2. Some pretty railing/building that I just had to take a photo of...so pretty!
3. My new Prada sunglasses that I found randomly during a browse-through at Loehmann's. We were meant to be. It was just sitting there ~waiting for me~. At least, that's what I keep telling myself.
4. Sunglasses goodness.
5. Traipsing down a dirt cliff to join Y and E on the lower bank of the cliff. Beautiful sunset viewing!
6. My trusty casual AE cutoffs and breezy MINKPINK blouse I probably purchased last year. Travelling and exploring = casual clothing.

filtered.

Just a random photo off of my phone that I thought would love to see the light of day (or in this case, the internet). :) I am also fighting the immense gravitational pull that are called "the pretty things I want". Pre-fall clothes are filtering into the stores at the moment and it makes me excited! I can finally layer the crap out of my clothes. That being said, it does not mean that I should purchase tons of new things because it's a new school year. No. I wonder how well that will go...

preoccupations.

(Tank and shorts - Forever 21)

I've been meaning to post something for ages but I've been a bit preoccupied! Ever since the Olympics have started, I have faithfully refreshed live feed after live feed and got up at ungodly hours of the morning to watch matches. It's okay. I keep telling myself that the Olympics come only every four years so it is fine if I lose out on two weeks worth of sleep. Besides, global sporting events are the only things I will watch with great interest. How can you possibly ignore the thrill of FENCING?! Of shooting at targets with pistols and arrows?!

But anyway, I digress. I am also re-watching Psy's Gangnam Style video, which is thoroughly entertaining. It is also very catchy and has apparently gone viral here in the United States. Woo! Go Psy!

On an outfit note...I've wanted to take some ~proper outfit photos~ with this AWESOME tank and shorts combo, but these self-timer shots will have to do instead. Oh well! Enjoy :)
